What is Aquaponics?
Aquaponics is a fusion of two technologies that have some serious drawbacks to producing food on their own...
- Aquaculture- Fish Farming
- The waste produced by an Aquaculture operation can be enormous. This large buildup of excrement from the fish produced can cause serious disease and cleanliness problems. Clean up and disposal is an ongoing costly endeavor.
- Hydroponics.- Growing plants in water.
- Hydroponics can produce good results, but requires the use of many chemical additives and continual monitoring and adjustment to accomplish a result.
Aquaponics is the successful fusion of these two technologies producing a sustainable ecosystem to grow nutrient rich, tasty, chemical free plants that can feed you, your family, your neighbors, and the world. The fish waste is naturally converted to nitrates which feed the plants.
This fusion has produced a way to grow food using about 1/10 the water necessary for growing in the ground - Grows pants 2 to 3 times as fast as growing in the ground - and is totally chemical free.
